About the Department

The Administrator implements and manages the directives of County Council in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible; the Administrator emphasizes effective management practices, strategic planning, coordination of resources, internal controls, and transparency in government by County departments in all aspects of public service delivery and day-to-day operations of local government.

Rusty Burns, Administrator

Rusty Burns has made his career serving local governments across Upstate South Carolina. He accepted the position of Administrator for Anderson County in April 2009. Rusty earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History from Lander University and a Masters of City and Regional Planning (MCRP) from Clemson University.
